Tatler and Prime are highly regarded restaurants in central Queenstown. They are also ideal venues for weddings, conferences, private dining or celebrations.

Tatler and Prime are forty metres away from each other and can seat a total of 290 guests. Individually, Tatler can accommodate 110 guests seated and Prime can seat 180. In association with Tatler's neighbours, Winnies and Ballarat, we can host functions for up to 900 guests, such as the TRENZ farewell function in May 2010.

Tatler Restaurant and Bar

Tatler is a stylish restaurant in the heart of town, ideally situated for people watching in The Mall, Queenstown's pedestrian street. The historic Tatler was built in 1863 and has recently been refurbished to provide a welcoming bistro atmosphere.

Come in for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just coffee or drinks and bring your laptop to use our free wifi broadband.

Upstairs is Tatler's private dining room, The Spectator Room. Available for private functions, the Spectator Room has its own bar and an open fire as well as exclusive access to the private balcony with lake views. There's a private bathroom upstairs too.

Some evenings we open the Spectator Room to the public so give us a call in advance to book your romantic fire-side table.

Tatler is open daily from 10am for breakfast, coffee, lunch, drinks and dinner. We offer free wifi for our customers.

Each evening between 5 and 6.30pm there’s a range of Early Bird dishes priced at $19.95. A light tapas menu is available between 4 and 6pm daily and from 10pm from Thursday to Saturday.

Prime Waterfront Restaurant and Bar

Prime is a stylish restaurant situated on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, opening for dinner daily from 5pm and lunch from 1pm on summer days. Our menu focuses on char-grilled steaks as well as game, seafood and vegetarian options. We were recently awarded the 2012 Beef and Lamb Excellence award.

We overlook the lake on which many fishing guides operate and we will happily prepare and serve your freshly-caught trout or salmon - we request fish be delivered to the kitchen between 3 and 5pm.

On sunny summer days Prime's lawn is available for diners to enjoy a light lunch with stunning views of the lake and mountains. Between 5 and 6.30pm we offer a range of light Early Bird main courses dishes for $19.90.

Prime has a private dining area available for groups of up to forty guests. Advance bookings are essential and a minimum spend may be required.
