Prime is an ideal wedding venue, able to cater for groups from 10 to 250.

Prime is located in central Queenstown, an easy walk from most accommodation and churches. Bridal parties and their guests may choose to arrive by boat with Million Dollar Cruise or by road with Queenstown Transport.

Prime Waterfront Restaurant and Bar

Prime's lake and mountain views provide a picturesque welcome for out of town guests.

The bridal party may choose to arrive by boat for a dramatic entrance - Queenstown's Main Town Pier is on Prime's front doorstep.

Prime has recently undergone a major refurbishment and its elegent decor is complemented by modern art.

The central open fireplace is a popular feature in winter and the open balcony provides a private smoking area.

There is a stage at one end of the restaurant, suitable for the bridal table, band or entertainment.

A lift is provided for guests entering from Rees Street; Prime's other entrance is accessed by stairs from the lakefront.

Prime is licenced until 1.30 am.

Minimum Spend for Exclusive Use


Whole venue: $4 to $9,000 for whole venue, depending on date.

Private curtained area: $1,500 to $3,000 depending on date.

(minimum spend excludes certain dates such as New Year's Eve and opening night of the Winter Festival which will have higher minimum spends)

A set up fee may apply but will be waived at a pre-agreed food and beverage spend.

Wedding Package

 

Our wedding package is aimed at reducing stress for couples so we have put together key services that will ensure your wedding reception is the perfect event you and your guests will remember for ever.

This package does not include food or beverage, which need to be chosen separately.

Inclusions

  • Flowers for the venue and centrepieces for each guest table
  • Linen table cloths and napkins
  • Table plan and specially-printed menu for each guest itemising food and beverage choices, including your own wedding graphic
  • Wireless microphone for speeches
  • A gift voucher for the bride and groom to celebrate their one week, one month or one year anniversary.

This package is priced at $1,075 inc GST.

Optional add-ons

  • DJ add $1,200 for the night (up to 4 hours)
  • Band - From $1800 to $9k for the night (up to 4 hours)
  • Chair covers $11 per chair
  • Calligraphy placecards $4.50 each

All prices include GST.

Kirstie here, we had our reception at Prime on October 6th. Just wanted to send you another email now that we are back from honeymoon to say how impressed and happy we were with how it all went.

We will highly recommend the Tatler to anyone looking to host a function, particularly a wedding party, as all of our small details were taken care of - the menus were classic (we've kept one inside our guest book) and the Spectator Room (and balcony) was decorated beyond our expectations. And lastly, the service on the evening was impeccable, the girls were so friendly towards all our guests and took a personal interest in our wedding - and as a bride I was totally and honestly reassured that everything would be looked after and I had a fun and relaxed evening.
